Overview

ChessUnlock is a macOS desktop application. We respect your privacy and designed the app to work with minimal data collection.

Data we collect

ChessUnlock does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All app data is stored locally on your Mac:

• Your puzzle rating (Elo score)
• Solve history and streak data
• App preferences (cooldown, night mode, difficulty)
• License key (if purchased)

Data we do not collect

• No analytics or telemetry
• No personal information (name, email, location)
• No usage tracking
• No cookies or web tracking

License validation

License keys are validated locally on your device. No network request is made to verify your license.

Puzzle data

Chess puzzles are sourced from the Lichess open puzzle database and bundled with the app. No internet connection is required to use ChessUnlock.

Third parties

We do not share any data with third parties. If you purchase a license through Stripe, Stripe's own privacy policy applies to that transaction.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page.
